 AUGUST 2004

expressions from the desk of the MD

This is the first of hopefully a regular communiqué to the people of Exponªnt. The idea is to inform everyone, on an informal note, of the doings and happenings all over Exponªnt. So please, any news on the projects - email to me, so we can pass it on.

New Business

We have concluded a partnership with Sage Consulting Company, to offer services and support on the Sage Product Suite. Sage is an ERP Solution, with strong financials fairly popular in the Cellular industry because of its interface to EPPIX (Customer Care & Billing).

On the back of Sage, we have secured support work in Namibia and now have an office there as well.

Talking of new presence; Wikus is very active on Tender 38 (SITA) and has placed consultants in Bisho, Kokstad, Kimberley, Upington and some new departments in Pretoria. We hope this new drive sustains.

Talking of new drives; Hennie van Deventer has opened an office for us in Cape Town and has now placed his first consultants. We have also commenced with a renewed drive to increase our business in the Johannesburg Market.

On the Projects

The POS-Africa team has successfully implemented the POS System in Malawi and are now heading for Gabon.

We have also received the go-ahead to do a pilot installation of Omnix in Malawi.

The Telkom team is as usual, working very hard and we are experiencing nice growth there.

A new team on the Navy OSIS project is settled in and productive.

We need more news from the projects - so please send those e-mails.

At Head Office

Our annual results are now being audited - so the finance guys are busy for a change.

The renewed drive for consultants at Telkom, Tender 38 and Cape Town/Johannesburg is also keeping the recruitment ladies "off the streets".

We are busy with an exercise to obtain ISO Accreditation.

Events

The big news for the moment is that Exponªnt has secured the main cycle race in Pretoria (what used to be the 94.2 or Jacaranda Classic) - will now be the Exponªnt Classic.

It is scheduled for 13 February 2005 - and we want as many teams as possible to compete in the Exponªnt colours.

For now, we already have four teams (of four people each)

More news to follow, but in the mean time, get your teams together and those bums in the saddle. Contact me to enroll teams.

Social Contribution

The Vodacom team has started a very nice initiative to support needy cases. Together with Leon, they have thus far raised in excess of R250 000 and are supporting:
Beulah Mission
Paul Jungnickel House
Timios Homes

All the proceeds of the Exponªnt Classic will also go to this plausible case.

Anyone who wishes to help, please contact Leon.

Happenings

Phillip de Wet was promoted to Account Manager Celtel.

The following consultants received awards for excellent service:
Tom Lessing (Europe Assist)
Phillip de Wet (Africa POS)
Johann Knoetze (Vodacom)
Christina Heystek (Vodacom)

Wikus Engelbrecht got married to Amanda; Willaine Burger and Shaun le Roux got engaged; Giovanni Roos also got engaged.

That's it for now

Regards
Marius Pels
